With the traps properly set and baited it was only a matter of time until the pigeon population was controlled and could be removed.
We recently had a customer in Portland, Oregon, request assistance in removing a flock of approximately 30 pigeons from his condominium. The birds had left thick droppings on the sidewalk, balcony, and several of the windows. Feathers had clogged the raingutter several times.
This customer told us that he had already tried to get rid of the nuisance birds himself using spikes, ammonia, and “gooey stuff”. His attempts did nothing to deter the birds, and they continued to leave droppings everywhere and build nests on his balcony. We sent a work request to Shawn, a wildlife control operator in the area with whom we had worked before.
Shawn has a lot of experience handling nuisance birds. He readily assessed the situation and set the traps in several strategic locations. After a few weeks the entire population was caged and he removed them from the premises.
With the birds out of the way, Shawn was able to perform a thorough cleanup of the area. The roof, raingutters, sidewalks, and several balconies had all suffered from an accumulation of pigeon wasted and debris. Using proper safety equipment to protect himself from spores and other dangerous airborne particles, Shawn cleaned up the pigeon mess. He also sanitized and deodorized the area.
The customer was pleased to have the nuisance birds finally out of his life and off of his balcony. We at Allstate are pleased to have Shawn in our directory. He is a fine nuisance wildlife control operator and provides a valuable service.
