Last week we had two customers in Kansas request rattlesnake removal. We sent a work order to Steve, a wildlife control operator in the area who has plenty of experience with rattlesnakes. Rattlesnake control is dangerous, specialty work, and you want someone who knows what they are doing.
The first customer had four rattlesnakes living in his crawlspace and several in the yard. Overall, there were approximately 20 rattlers on the property immediately surrounding his home and barn. The snakes were attracted to the property by the numerous prairie dogs and rabbits in the area, which snakes like to eat.
Steve did a thorough inspection of the property including inside the home, the crawlspace, in and around the barn, and all other outbuildings. He checked everywhere a rattlesnake could be, including underneath furniture and all around the inside of the house.
Steve removed all the rattlesnakes and found their access holes and sealed them. Then he drove the 5 miles to the next rattlesnake removal job.
This customer had had several rattlesnakes a few years ago on her back porch. Now there were more, on her porch again and in her driveway soaking up the sun. Steve did what he does best, which is catch all those rattlers and get rid of them. Once again her did a complete inspection of the property, looking for holes into the house and places where snakes might hideout.
